The Executive Engineer ( Planning ) is entrusted with the responsibility of Town Planning activities. The branch looks after regulation of building activities / lay out and building permissions. The planning permission is granted by Composite Local Planning Authority headed by the District Collector and the Building permission is granted by the commissioner.
How to Apply:
1.
The Applicant should remit Rs. 100/- at the Corporation Main Office Information center to get the required Building Application.
2.
Planning permission application can be had at the SLPA office on remittance of Rs. 50/- for residential use and Rs. 100/- for commercial use.
3.
Permission for single Residential Building upto 200 m2 total plinth area and commercial Building upto 100 m2 total plinth area will be received and processed at the Corporation office itself.
4.
All other applications / Appeals with relevant enclosures will be received in the Corporation and Forwarded to the SLPA and DTCP, Chennai.

  • Cooperation with enforcement staff

  • No unauthorised construction or addition / alteration in the premises

  • Start construction only after getting an approved plan

  • Do not buy plots for construction in unapproved layouts

  • Layout Developers to hand over Road, drains and other infrastructure together with reserved sites for the public purposes to the Corporation after completion and before getting final Approval.

  • Follow the building Rules, Layout conditions, Detailed Development Plan Clauses, Master Plan Regulations and other regulations.

  • Report illegal constructions, dangerous constructions

  • Avoid encroachments on public property and ensure foot paths are clear.

  • Don't deposit debris along Road Margins.
